“The Irving Schoolyard Project is a community-based effort...”
made up of volunteers from the Irving community, teachers, staff, local architects and engineers.
For over 50 years, the schoolyard at Washington Irving School has been paved in asphalt. The Irving Schoolyard Project seeks to transform this blight — 80,000 square feet of blacktop — into a safe and environmentally-responsible recreation area that will yield benefits for the entire community.
The Irving Schoolyard Project is a community-based effort led by the Irving PTO. Made up of volunteers from the Irving community, teachers, staff, local architects and engineers, the project is planning a major update of Irving’s entire exterior space.
